I am currently without internet and am typing this on word because I cannot wait.
Majo Saiban = worst ending ever!!!! I thought SP was bad (well it was) but this show just undermines my faith in dramas! Maybe it’s a Saturday night thing, I don’t know.
(Highlight below for spoilers!)
It’s called the witch trial and they do mention medieval witch hunts in the show and about how they were all innocent yet convicted and executed. This witch was actually guilty and found innocent. Wtf? Are they trying to send a message about corruptness here? Maybe that they don’t think this new lay judge system works? Maybe that all those people killed really were guilty? Maybe it was just wrong of me to expect a good ending. I was so happy when she was found not guilty. I thought for once this show was really great even though it’s so preposterous. And then that ending. It’s like the whole thing was for nothing. It’s entertaining but I’m going to do my best to forget it exists! I don’t expect there will be a special since the ratings were so low but it would be nice if this series could end on a good note.
On the other hand it is nice to have a drama that doesn’t have the typical good triumphs over evil ending. I fully don’t believe this but I thought I’d throw it out there :) The guilty person gets her way and the protagonists get hood winked. What a great drama!
Koishite Akuma is the first show to be dropped from my list! I’m not wasting my time with the awful show especially when I hate the main character’s guts. Nakayama Yuma hardly talks at all and when he does it he sounds like he has the voice of Darth Vader! I never have good luck with vampire shows.
As expected of the Getsu 9 drama, Buzzer Beat is amazing!!!!! I absolutely loved the first episode!!!!! I want to watch more!!! I’d never heard of Kitagawa Keiko before but she’s great in this drama! And I don’t totally hate Yamapi’s character yet, though I do think his hair is too blond- it makes his eyes look beetle-like. This is the first time I’ve seen Aibu Saki play a ‘bad’ character. Is company basketball that big of a deal in Japan? Is it the equivalent of professional basketball like in America? Anyways, I dearly hope this drama doesn’t disappoint as the dramas I initially like usually do. Look at Smile for instance. Also, I love the theme song! Ichibutozenbu by B’z. It really matches the drama.
